Music and on street entertainment abounds throughout the county thanks to our Live Local Outdoor Performance Scheme supporting events countywide this summer.
In June Clare County Council sought applications from interested parties who wished to receive support for people in the live performance industry to facilitate programming of outdoor live performances in summer 2021 animating local communities, subject to public health considerations.
All genres of performance (Music, Spectacle, Circus, Street Arts etc) were encouraged to apply to the scheme. Small scale solo performances and unplugged presentations through to amplified concerts were considered with an emphasis on balanced activity countywide and family friendly events.
The following outdoor performances have been supported (with more to be announced):
Bualadh Busk
A Summer series of outdoor performances promoting local talent. Taking place twice per week in Shannon, Newmarket on Fergus, Bunratty and Sixmilebridge.
Busking in the Banner
A series of outdoor performance by concertina player, Christy McNamara, in towns and villages countywide.
Los Paddys Continental Ennis
Irish and Latin Song and Dance on the Streets of Ennis
This scheme is supported by the Dept. of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltachet, Sports and Media.
