You are most welcome to Súil’s newest exhibition , J O U R N E Y S – Everything Begins Somewhere, An Art Exhibition by Young Creators.
As C.S. Lewis once said, “With the possible exception of the equator, everything begins somewhere.” For children with lifelong physical health conditions, whose works are featured here, that “somewhere” may look different—but it’s no less powerful. Each creation acts as a personal beginning towards independence, challenging expectations while creating works of art. A world starts to appear with every brushstroke, whilst colours act as a foundation for emotion and self-expression. Created during community camps in Ennis, Nenagh and Limerick City along with children attending the Paediatric Inclusion Health Clinics in Ennis Hospital, Tyone Health Centre, Nenagh and University Hospital Limerick, these artworks welcome us to witness the journeys of these young artists as they create their own paths in life – reminding us that a journey isn’t only about where it leads, but also about the stories it tells along the way.
