Kim Thittichai is a Textile Artist, Tutor, Author and Photographer. Kim has a BA Degree in Wood, Metal, Ceramics & Plastics and has two Diplomas in Stitched and Creative Textiles. Kim is an international tutor and has taught and lectured worldwide, pre-pandemic of course! Kim specialises in teaching experimental textile techniques.
She sells her photographs and one-off canvases through her website and her studio. Kim’s larger one-off textile works are sold through Kilbaha Gallery.
This is Kim’s third exhibition at the fabulous Gallery at Cultúrlann Sweeney in Kilkee, it is a great opportunity to exhibit in a professional space.
Having moved from the busy city of Brighton in the UK five years ago, Kim now lives close to the end of the beautiful Loop Head peninsula and is surrounded by incredible natural inspiration. The ever-changing light caused by living between 2 bodies of water is quite remarkable, and can’t help but influence her work.
Of Land, Sea & Sky brings 3 of her creative passions together:
- Her interpretation of the local environment through the photographs she takes.
- Working with plastic collected from local beaches and farms.
- Creating one-off textile wall art inspired by the local light and environment.
