Scarriff Library, Scarriff is delighted to present a wonderful exhibition by Darragh O’Brien who is a native of Ennis.  The artworks on display in the Scarriff Library are a selection of paintings completed over the course of the last 3 years and reflect Darragh’s lifelong interest in painting.  Darragh employs a technique involving a liberal application of paint onto a horizontal surface.  He begins by preparing a generous palette of anywhere from 1 to 6 colours.  He then uses a variety of brushes to daub the paint onto the surface where he proceeds to blend the colours in a manner that dramatically capture the sense of joy he experiences during the act of creating the artwork.  This is perhaps most evident through his prominent brushstrokes and vibrant splashes of paint. Each painting is a spontaneous work of art and represents an uninhibited expression of pleasure in colour and composition.  Darragh continues to work from home on an ongoing basis.

This wonderful exhibition runs from 9th August to 11th September, 2021 and is open to all members of the community.
