For spring 2022, Kilkee Youth Theatre returns with workshops for two age groups, in two separate, weekly workshops:
9 to 12 year olds: 11.00 to 12.30pm in Cultúrlann Sweeney – February 26th, March 5th, March 12th, March 26th, April 02nd
13 to 17 year olds: (times tbc) in Kilkee Community College – February 26th, March 5th, March 12th
The first term of Kilkee Youth Theatre for 2022 commences on Saturday, February 26th and runs until May 7th (bank holiday weekends excluded). The second term will run over the summer months.
Facilitators for the youth theatre include Moyasta native Fiona Claffey-Kelly, Ennistymon resident, Jacinta Sheerin and Ennis based Orla McGovern, each bringing a wealth of theatre training and expertise to group sessions. As society embraces a return to social activities in the coming months, Kilkee Youth Theatre looks forward to sharing their work with audiences in West Clare. Young participants in the youth theatre will experience the creation of a new, short piece of theatre and become involved in some or every aspect of a production from performance, writing, improvising, directing, costume and make-up to poster design and publicity.
Kilkee Youth Theatre offers an excellent opportunity for young people to enjoy a group activity that builds confidence and communication skills while having fun as they emerge from a period of little or no creative group activity.
