In this exciting hand-on workshop, children will become colour-makers. Learning how to create their very own ink and paint using materials straight from nature, like soil, rocks and plants.

The will explore three different methods for turning natural materials into colourful paint. From grinding earth into pigment and boiling botanicals to make ink, to mulling paint by hand – just like artists have done for centuries – everyone will get a chance to dive into the full process. The workshop ends with testing the colours on paper and discovering just how many shades can be made from the landscape around them.

It’s messy, creative and full of discovery – and everyone will leave inspired to keep exploring colour in the natural world.  Bring an apron or old shirt and don’t mind getting dusty!
