Clare Arts Office in conjunction with Cultúrlann Sweeney Gallery, Kilkee is delighted to present “Persistence” a wonderful exhibition by Clare artist Joe Kelly.
Joseph’s solo exhibition “Persistence” is an array of paintings which tackles Kilkee’s unique coastal landscape in many different styles and approaches. Joe finds his inspiration from Clare’s breath-taking coastline and beautiful surroundings which gives an insight into both en plein air techniques and studio based methods of painting. ‘En plein air’ is when artists sketch, draw and paint in the open air. Joseph uses drawing, sketching and painting in order to document and create his pieces as he travels to various locations throughout the county and further afield.
“The show is aptly called ‘Persistence’ as Joseph’s original exhibition had to be rescheduled a number of times due to the pandemic. Cultúrlann Sweeney is now delighted to welcome Joseph and his work, enabling it to be viewed and appreciated by the West Clare public and visitors alike” says Siobhán Mulcahy, County Arts Officer.
Why not come along to this free exhibition which runs from 5th July to 29th July, 2022.
