The Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon will host an artist talk with participants and exhibition at the opening of ‘Tar Isteach/Come In Project’.

The project , launched by members of Ground Up artist collective, explored the concept of welcome in today’s society with migrants moving into Ireland and living in an REOC centre and the system that is direct provision. This is an opportunity to see work that is not often seen in gallery spaces and includes amongst other work slides from an activist forum, paintings, handcraft, photographic documentation, music and embroidery uncovering a wealth of contradiction and exquisiteness.

Join us from 6pm for music and dancing with Los Paddy’s . At 6.30pm there will be a preview and reception for the launch of the exhibition and Artist Talk by Maeve Collins at 8pm.

In advance of the exhibition The ‘Tar Isteach/Come in’ workshop will be held at the King Thomond Direct Provision Centre, Lisdoonvara at 6pm. The workshop will use architecture to explore the theme of Tar Isteach/ Come In of offering welcome, for families residing in the Centre.  Work produced will be exhibited at the exhibition in Ennistymon.  Romina Bali and Nasreen Nabaoui will co-faciliate with Maeve Collins.
