What is Socially Engaged Practice?
This session explores the terminology and practice of socially engaged art and would suit those who are interested in delivering local and community led work for and with a range of communities.
Following on from this webinar, County Clare/Limerick/Tipperary based visual artists can avail of 1 of 8 twenty minute 1-2-1 clinics with Áine Phillips.
Áine Phillips is a performance artist based in Galway, exhibiting and performing in Ireland and internationally since the late 80’s. She creates work for multiple contexts; public art commissions, the street, club events, galleries, theatres and museums. Her work is powered by feminist philosophy, ethics and politics: using art to comment and make propositions on subjectivity, gender and social change. She has strong connections with County Clare and has worked on a number of Arts Office supported programmes and projects over the years.
This event is part of a suite of professional development seminars for visual arts developed by Visual Artists Ireland in conjuction with Clare, Limerick and Tipperary Arts Offices.
