Aideen Sweeney is a Dublin born Intuitive Artist, Creative Circle Facilitator & Intentional Creativity Teacher with a background in Art Synthesis, Primary School Teaching, Nature Craft, History and Yoga/Meditation.
Her inspirations as an artist largely come from the Nature based Mythology of each season, in particular the Irish Goddess stories, and the Celtic Wheel lifecycle and its symbolism in Nature and story. Meditation practices and spontaneous art processes form the basis of art and shared work. She is deeply inspired by jungian approaches to expressive art and free expression practices popularised by Arno Stern’s post war work with children.
In addition to her own art practice, she facilitates online Celtic Creative Circles for women in Europe, Group Process Painting workshops, Intentional Creativity Sessions and Children Art & Nature workshops. She is a member of the Teaching Council of Ireland. Recently relocated to Clare from Belfast, she is a studio resident at Clare County Council EASI studios and will be running in-person workshops in Ennis in 2024.
