Ailish Malone is a self taught abstract landscape artist working in acrylics and mixed media. Ailish is inspired by the landscape all around her, in particular the Shannon Estuary and the Atlantic Ocean. She loves to spend time walking on the shore, examining the rocks, seaweed, and the waves advancing to the shore. She responds to the colours, shapes and textures in the landscape all around her.  She paints intuitively and her mark making, and brush strokes are influenced by what is distilled in her memory and through sketching and photographs taken on her walks.  She uses mainly acrylics, inks and texture mediums and also enjoys creating marks using found objects from the shoreline.
