Chris Wood is an artist based in Ennistymon, Co. Clare. He works primarily with music and composes mainly for guitar.
He has been a resident musician for over 5 years in Byrne’s Restaurant, Ennistymon, and has run open mic nights for local artists in Limerick and Clare.
He has performed and recorded with Clare based singer-songwriter Claire Watts as well as performing solo at many weddings and restaurants over the years. He has also taken part in a 2021 video and music project run by Clare based Christy McNamara. Chris also teaches guitar, working in schools and with private students, and this work expanded online, through Zoom, from early 2020.
As well as writing songs he has also written multi-part musical pieces as projects for larger groups of students, including school children from 3rd class and upwards. These complex and multi-layered “recording projects” were completed remotely and are available to listen to on YouTube.
Being also a composer and arranger Chris has recently finished an album “Watercolour Sound” of instrumental guitar music, which is available in Ennistymon and online.
Chris is a member of IMRO and PPI Ireland.
