I am a portrait painter, who uses multi media techniques; gold leaf, fresco, acrylic, oil, watercolour painting, cracking varnish effect, fragmented lace effect and drawing.
I try portraiture as a way of creating a time capsule of the sitter. I try to capture faces ‘ lost in thought’ in contemplation as if in reflection. I try to capture the human condition and the vulnerability of the sitter.
I am mainly known for an ongoing series of portraits of my son; from birth to adulthood and portraits of my ageing self in comparison.
I have done numerous artist residencies in colleges and schools, portraying the students and facilitating them with simple portrait  projects.
