Deirdre Devally writes prose, poetry and songs. She was short-listed in The Fish Poetry Prize, longlisted in The Fish Short Memoir Prize and Highly Commended in The Gregory O’Donoghue International Poetry Competition, 2023. Publications in Literary Journals and anthologies include Trumpet 12; The Stony Thursday Book; Washing Windows Too; The Honest Ulsterman and The Ogham Stone. Her debut poetry album, ‘The Broken Timbers Speak’ is available on Bandcamp.
Deirdre’s work has been broadcast on radio internationally. She has been shortlisted for the Cúirt International Literary Festival and New Irish Writing.
Deirdre is the recipient of an Arts Council Literature Bursary and Agility Award. In 2023, she was awarded an ‘Artist-to-Artist Mentorship’ from glor, Ennis. She graduated in January 2023 with an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Limerick with First Class Honours. She has collated her debut written poetry manuscript and is currently submitting to publishers. She is working on a novella.
Deirdre has facilitated ‘The Artist’s Way,’ 13 week programme along with ‘Mindfulness for Creativity’ and ‘Write Yourself Happy.’
