Doreen Drennan is a visual artist based between Lisdoonvarna and Doolin and originally from Achill Island Co. Mayo. She has been painting the  coastline of the Wild Atlantic Way and the landscapes of the Burren for over 35 years, through her preferred medium of oil on canvas

She studied impressionism in the National College of Art and Design under the direction of the late Henry Healy RHA.

Doreen has exhibited widely over the years in group and solo shows in DeVeres, RHA Dublin, Kenny’s Galway and Kenny’s Lahinch, to name but a few, but now shows from her own studio just outside Lisdoonvarna.

Commissions have been completed for worldwide clients and for A.I.B banks, as well as a book cover for the late Maeve Binchy entitled A Week in Summer.

In 2022 she launched a book entitled Of Surf & Stone, which includes images of her paintings of the Wild Atlantic Way, from Achill to Kerry, and several poems reflecting on life along the West coast. All proceeds of this book are going to the RNLI lifeboats.
