Dorothy Ledwith is a visual artist living in Ennis, Co. Clare. She qualified in graphics and worked in that industry for many years before becoming a full time artist. She works in oils, print and gouache. The subject matter of her work includes urban scape, landscape and industrial views. The style of her artwork is representational with a palette of muted tones. The work is about highlighting contrasts, for example, the sharpness of the motorway beside the soft countryside. Recent gallery involvement includes The Hamilton Gallery in Sligo and The Chimera Gallery in Mullingar. She is regularly selected for inclusion in the RHA Annual and has also successfully submitted to Royal Scottish Academy Annual and Royal Ulster Academy Annual. She has been exhibiting since 2016 at Art Source, an annual art fair held in the RDS. As a member of the Watercolour Society of Ireland she exhibits in their annual which is held in Farmleigh Gallery in The Phoenix Park, Dublin.
