John O’ Donnell is a filmmaker based in Ennistymon, Co. Clare, who runs a small production company called Stray Dog Films. He works mainly in documentary and has made a number of diverse films from the story of Hot Press Magazine to the story of The Tulla Céilí Band, as well as the story of an Irish woman who walked across America with her five year old daughter in an attempt to get back to Ireland.
To him good stories and their telling are what matters and John is always looking for interesting stories to develop.
John is currently in development with two very different projects;
- a feature length documentary about a man who’s life was destroyed by the actions of another man, and
- a feature-length drama set in Co. Clare.
John is also keen to develop an arts related film as this is an area he feels comfortable working in but hasn’t yet found the right project.
The Stray Dog Films website is currently under construction and will soon be up and running.
