Madge O’Callaghan is an author and poet based in Kilbane, East Clare, in the shadow of Sliabh Bernagh. She facilitates creative writing groups for beginners and experienced writers, using the Amherst method. She is an Amherst Writers and Artists affiliate. She holds an MA (Hons.) in Creative Writing from DCU (2018) and has a background working in the area of youth mental health, using creative approaches to address social justice issues. She achieved Gold at the World Festival of Radio in New York (2016) for her radio documentary “My Uncle Jack” and had a play, MASKS, featured in First Fortnight (Mental Health Arts Programme) 2015.
