I am a passionate music facilitator and educator. I provide an enjoyable and comfortable environment for musical performance for all through the medium of violin, ukulele, percussion, keyboards and voice. I facilitate composition, performance and singing as a group.

While studying Music Education at the University of Limerick, I embraced the methodologies of Dalcroze, Kodály, Orff, and Suzuki—approaches that prioritise creativity, ear training, and playful learning. I incorporated these philosophies in my own teaching and gained valuable experience facilitating groups of young children and adults with special needs.

As a traditional musician who learned by ear, I found a strong resonance between Irish traditional music and the Suzuki method, which emphasises internalising music through the “inner ear” before playing it. This connection continues to influence my music workshops.

I hold an MA in Community Music and have taught post-primary music in Limerick for over 15 years. I am also an examiner for the State Exams Commission and a Music Associate with the Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST).

In 2019, I began musicplayschool.com, a unique programme that combines solfège, ear training, piano skills, and classical music study in a playful and holistic setting. The programme’s success has led to the creation of both in-person group classes and the Music Playschool Online Community, aiming to nurture a lifelong love of music in children.
