Olena Albrekt is a Ukranian artist who fled the war in Ukraine and arrived in Kilkee in August 2022. She graduated from Donetsk Art College in 1984 and from the Art and Industry Institute in Kharkov in 1990. She has taken an active part in city and international exhibitions. Her works are on display in the museums and galleries of the city of Donetsk and in private collections. She is a member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. She works in many creative genres watercolours, oils, acrylics and depicts still life, landscape, portraits, book graphics, portraits, tapestries and batik. She has worked as a book illustrator and taught at a children’s art school for over twenty years as a teacher of the highest category.
