Sarah Moore Fitzgerald is an award-winning teacher, researcher and novelist based at the University of Limerick where she’s part of the creative writing team. In 2016 she was awarded a full professorship for her research and leadership in teaching and learning. Her creative work has been adapted for the stage and translated into over eighteen different languages. She’s the author of seven novels for children and young adults, has been shortlisted for literary awards including the Waterstones Prize, The Irish Book Awards, and The Jack Harte Bursary. She’s been awarded a Kirkus star in the USA for exceptional merit in children’s literature, and is the 2022 winner of The London Magazine’s short story award for her story ‘Matamoros, July 1847’. Her most recent teen novel, The Shark And The Scar was published in June 2022.
