Clare Arts Office in conjunction with Scarriff Library Gallery is delighted to present “Surrendering” an art exhibition at the Scarriff Library Gallery by Artist Ailish Malone.
Ailish is a self-taught abstract landscape/seascape artist from West Clare who has enjoyed being creative throughout her life. Her art is inspired by the majestic West Coast of Ireland, where she grew up and has spent most of her life.
Ailish’s paintings are an expression of her take on the landscape that surrounds her. She works in layers with acrylic paints, inks, texture mediums, pastels and glazing which help her visions come to life, sometimes using found objects from her beachcombing walks as painting tools to create marks on the canvas. Ailish’s vision is that when others experience her paintings, they too can feel the sea breeze or ocean spray on their face, the peace a calm day brings or the exuberance of a rough tide. She travels throughout the Loop Head Peninsula and up and down the Wild Atlantic Way in her campervan finding places to stop to observe the ocean, the waves, the weather, the skies. Spending time as close to nature as possible fills her with inspiration.
This wonderful collection of paintings invites you to surrender to the feelings that the landscape and sea can evoke.
Ailish is very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to come and see her wonderful exhibition!
