The Arts Office of Clare County Council has a long held interest in environmental and climate issues, and over the years has worked with numerous artists on individual and community based projects. Our Arts in a Rural Context Programme, has for many years delved into some of the issues facing artists and communities working in rural areas, and many of these are intangibly linked to climate change and the challenges it brings.
As local and national policy evolves in this area, the Arts Office continues to instigate and support a variety of programmes and projects that directly address or make us reflect on our relationship with nature and the world around us.
We are also delighted to work in this challenging area with a number of dedicated and passionate individuals, groups and organisations and acknowledge that it is only by working together that we can be successful in the challenges we face.
In particular we support the work of the Arts Council, Creative Ireland Clare and the Climate Action Team of Clare County Council.
Projects we have been involved in to date:
Climate Art Assembly 2023- 2025
Burren Annual Exhibition – No Man’s Land 2022
