Moderator : Helen Carroll broadcaster, journalist and presenter of RTE’s Ear to the Ground.
Reflections was a consideration of rural art practices and cultural imagination in a rural context emerging from Gaining Ground, the most recent phase in Clare County Council’s public art programme 2018-2020.
It was a daylong symposium, where artist practitioners and curators examined how place, and creating work with the ‘local’ as a starting point, can provide a platform for highly innovative and challenging work.
Reflections presented multiple visions of the rural and taps into the rich vein of stimuli artists are exploring, while working in a rural context, exploring the following themes; Environment & Sustainability ; Heritage, History & Memory ; Changing Communities ; Creative Approaches To Commissioning Public Art Projects;
