The Art of Place: People and Landscape of County Clare offers tantalising glimpses into the personal lives and creative processes of 31 artists who live in or come from County Clare.

It emerged from a gathering of artists in the Burren, supported by Clare Arts Office, who discussed their creativity and how their place influenced their creative practices.

Edited by Peadar King and Anne Jones, it features contributors including writers and visual artists, musicians and composers, sculptors and film makers.

The Art of Place Book Launch and Live Performance took place in glór on 29th November 2021 when the book was virtually launched by Catherine Martin T.D., Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

Seven book contributors including musicians, singers and readers performed on stage . They included Jack Talty (concertina); Geraldine Cotter (piano); Tommy Hayes (percussion); Tim Dennehy (singer) and Godknows Jonas (rap artist), Mary Hawkes Green (Burren College of Art) and Isabelle Gaborit (artist)

The event also included an audio visual presentation of images by photographer John Kelly, commissioned by Clare County Council, through the Per Cent for Art Scheme.

The event  was supported by Clare Arts Office and the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media through the Local Live Music Scheme.
